Where expression is well-noted
Building upon the richness of the long-running Author Series, our Music Salons seek to unite those who wish to immerse themselves in music’s pull upon the imagination.
In collaboration with PostClassical Ensemble, Music Salons are a stunning respite from daily activities. Taking place in the warm ambiance of inviting woodwork and period ceiling details in The Hay-Adams Room, Music Salons provide a space to engage very intimately with live music.
PostClassical Ensemble (PCE) breathes new life into the orchestral experience through imaginative programming performed by the most talented musicians in the nation's capital. Founded in 2003, PCE is a pioneer in transforming the concert experience through inclusive and original storytelling. PCE's performances include collaborations, across artistic mediums, that showcase how film, literature, and art enhance and inspire a new way to experience the musical repertoire. Join us for our next Music Salon, where a live-music journey will transport you.
As Washington, DC celebrates the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and Brazil, join PostClassical Ensemble and Music Director Angel Gil-Ordóñez for a performance celebrating the sounds of Brazil. PostClassical Ensemble artists David Jones (saxophone), Lucas Ashby (percussion), and Rose Moraes (vocals) will perform a program highlighting the influence of popular Brazilian songs from the national styles of bossa nova, samba, and choro.
We look forward to welcoming you!
