My Picnic Adventure
With my new job, I've been in Washington every other month for work. I picked The Hay-Adams for its location at first and then fell in love with how calm it is. I also love the green space in the city. On a recent visit, I mentioned this to the lovely front desk clerk and she recommended that I try the picnic, easily ordered via the room service menu.
It turned out that I did have a couple of free hours, so I did order one, and I’m so glad. I took my picnic backpack on a two-minute walk across the street to Lafayette Park. Of all the meals I had in DC that trip, the gourmet lunch on a picnic blanket with birds above and the White House right there, was my favorite. Next time, maybe I’ll try taking my picnic further, on one of the hotel’s bicycles!
