Harvest at The Hay:
Thanksgiving Brunch Celebrates Local Ingredients and Festive Indulgences

WASHINGTON, DC – October 26, 2022 – This Thanksgiving, The Hay-Adams is serving up a bountiful harvest brunch sure to spark joy and instill gratitude in the hearts – and palates – of those who experience it.

The setting – Top of the Hay, the indoor rooftop space with stunning views of the White House, Lafayette Park, DC monuments and more – is the backdrop for the experience, which has expanded from past years to include more options. After sipping a welcome glass of Champagne, guests can explore themed stations offering a range of artfully prepared, delectable dishes featuring local ingredients.

New this year are a bloody mary cart featuring a house-made bloody mary mix and Belvedere vodka from Poland, where guests can play mixologist and build their own bloody mary with condiments; a quiche action station where chefs will offer classically themed quiches; and a show-stopping bananas foster station featuring the sweet, creamy dessert prepared in the moment.

Locally sourced ingredients are the star of this year’s Thanksgiving experience at The Hay-Adams. Highlights include a carved, pasture-raised, all-natural whole turkey from Earth & Eat Farm served with traditional turkey gravy, apple, and cranberry chutney and onion, celery and chestnut stuffing; Creekstone Farms’ Black Angus beef tenderloin, served with a red wine bordelaise sauce; Maryland jumbo lump crab cakes with baby peppers and a spicy romesco sauce; Shenandoah lamb loin with roasted sunchokes and rosemary sauce, and Atlantic striped bass with butternut squash, black rice and lemon.

Additional, finely prepared options reflecting traditional Thanksgiving tastes as well as contemporary ones will complement these standout mains. In addition to a sweet potato puree, corn bread, and mixed winter vegetables, guests can sample pasta dishes such as a wild mushroom agnolotti with wilted greens and lemon cream sauce, a sumptuous cold seafood display; flavorful salads themed around star ingredients such as Mediterranean chickpea, green lentil, and Maine lobster; and much more.

An irresistible array of sweets will dazzle even the most restrained palate, with carefully created concoctions such as a rustic apple galette, classic ricotta cheesecake, chocolate ganache tart, pear bread pudding, lemon verbena panna cotta verrine, Black Forest cake, pecan nutty bar, strawberry trifle shooter, and, of course, traditional pumpkin pie on offer.

Local musican Tom Vogt will provide live piano music.
