The Hay-Adams Introduces “Six at Six,” a New Guided Cocktail Hour at Off The Record

WASHINGTON, DC – May 7, 2026 – The Hay-Adams is pleased to introduce “Six at Six,” a new guided cocktail hour at Off The Record, the hotel’s celebrated bar just steps from Lafayette Square. Designed for guests who enjoy taking a closer look at what’s in the glass, Six at Six offers an intimate, seated experience at The Bench, the bar’s most sought-after seating area. 

Held from 6-7 pm on the last Tuesday of each month, Six at Six welcomes only six guests for an hour that feels unhurried, interactive, and quietly structured. It is the only time The Bench is available for advance reservation, giving guests a rare chance to secure these coveted seats and see Off The Record from a more personal vantage point. 

Each Six at Six evening spotlights a single theme and moves through three interactive cocktail preparations, with small bites as accompaniment. The Hay-Adams’ food and beverage experts guide guests through spirits, techniques, and flavor profiles in an easy, conversational style, with alcohol-free approaches included as part of the experience. 

“Six at Six gives guests an opportunity to slow the pace, reserve a seat, and spend an hour really talking about, and tasting, what we’re pouring,” said Muna Ahmmed, Bar Manager, The Hay-Adams. “It’s still very much Off The Record in that it’s relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming, but offers a bit more time and focus for guests who like to ask questions and discover something new.

Six at Six debuts with three themed evenings:
•    May 26, 2026 – Tequila & Mezcal – an agave-focused hour ($90 per person)
•    June 30, 2026 – Gin & Jun – a bright, botanical exploration ($80 per person)
•    July 28, 2026 – Vodka & Bubbles – light, celebratory cocktails that sparkle ($90 USD per person)

Six at Six takes place at Off The Record on the last Tuesday of most months, from 6–7 pm, with only six seats available per evening. Reservations may be made through Resy or by calling +1 202 638 6600.
