The Hay-Adams Introduces New In-room ‘Cocktail Hour’ Experience
Revitalized in-room dining menu includes carefully selected create-your-own-cocktail service, ideal for travelers looking to enjoy handcrafted libations in the quiet of their private space
WASHINGTON, DC, February 1, 2024 — The Hay-Adams is making it easy for travelers to enjoy the ritual of a cocktail hour in the quiet privacy of their room or suite. The award-winning hotel is debuting a reimagined in-room dining menu that has three options for guests seeking to enjoy their drink in a serene space. In-room dining has also added a to-go option ideal for guests facing a busy travel day.
Beginning later this month, guests staying at The Hay-Adams will discover three spirit-anchored selections in the ‘Cocktail Hour’ section of the in-room dining menu:
-
Jefferson’s Ocean Bourbon, served with garnishes and mixers to create either an Old Fashioned or a Moscow Mule
-
The Botanist Gin, served with garnishes and mixers to create either a Gin & Tonic or a Negroni
-
Avion Silver Tequila, which includes mixers and garnishes to make either a Paloma or a Tequila Sunrise
Each Cocktail Hour selection also comes with a bar set to use for mixing, a snack pairing, and a recipe card with simple instructions for guests to create their own cocktail.
The new experience reflects travelers wishing to enjoy the ritual of a cocktail while also pausing and relaxing in the private space of their room or suite. The Hay-Adams recognizes a movement toward more intentional, less rushed travel – sometimes referenced as quiet travel or slow travel – as well as an increasing desire to spend quality time relaxing alone or with loved ones.
‘Cocktail Hour’ is ideal for business travelers who wish to enjoy a cocktail while working in their room or unwinding after a day of meetings; for couples or friends enjoying a getaway; for wedding parties celebrating the moment; and for parents traveling with young children, as a stand-in for visiting a bar.
Also new within the reimagined in-room-dining menu is ‘Hay-Adams On the Go,’ a travel-ready gourmet experience that elevates the next part of a guest’s journey, whether catching a train or dashing around DC — elegantly packed in eco-friendly containers.
In-room dining is available at The Hay-Adams 24 hours a day, with selections specific to early morning, all-day-dining, late night and overnight, as well as special selections for kids, those seeking sweets, and a robust selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including house-made juices.
